Best of the Web: Awkward Black Girl Part Two
14 May
/
9:30 pm

Last year, we sought to capture this collective magic by sharing some of our favourite online series’ and one offs on the big screen. It went down a treat, so ‘Best of the Web’ is back this year for one night only with a couple of online discoveries we think you’ll love (if you’re not already familiar).

Issa Rae’s seminal series Awkward Black Girl premiered on YouTube in 2011. It then won a Shorty Award for Best Web Series in 2012, and by 2016 HBO had picked it up and turned it into the series Insecure which ran until 2021. Not bad hey? It’s funny, well-written, has great performances, and fully deserves its plaudits.

We’re going to show every episode from the two seasons - broken down into two sections: 6 - 7:30pm and 9:30 - 10:30pm.

Come down for a night of electronic-focused experimentation.

A heady brew of improv, noise and remix culture that showcases the depth and diversity of the left-field music scene in Birmingham and beyond.

It’s a slice of cosmic pie for all the family, washed down with a hot jug of granular gravy. All in one Pan.
